Pep Guardiola Praises Hard-fought Win Against Nottingham Forest
City's Title Push Remains Strong
Manchester City maintained their dominance at the top of the Premier League table with a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday evening. After a hard-fought battle, goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland sealed the deal for Pep Guardiola's side.
The win extends City's unbeaten run in the league to 15 matches and keeps them five points clear of Arsenal, who have a game in hand. It was not an easy victory, however, as Nottingham Forest put up a strong fight and had chances to take the lead.
Guardiola admitted that the game was a tough test for his team. "It was a hard game, especially in the first half," he said. "They had chances, they were well-organized, and it was not easy for us to create chances."
Despite the challenges, City eventually found their rhythm and broke the deadlock in the 45th minute. Foden's exquisite finish gave the visitors the lead, and they never looked back.
Haaland then put the game to bed in the 75th minute, scoring his 15th goal of the Premier League season. The Norwegian striker has been in sensational form since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
City's victory will give them confidence as they approach a crucial period in the season. They face Arsenal in the FA Cup on Saturday and then travel to Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League next week.
