Shapiro Expresses Gratitude to Voters

HARRISBURG, PA - Today, Josh Shapiro was sworn in as the 48th Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In a ceremony held at the state Capitol, Shapiro took the oath of office and delivered an inaugural address that outlined his vision for the state.

Shapiro, a Democrat, campaigned on a platform of economic opportunity, education, and healthcare. He has pledged to make Pennsylvania a more affordable and equitable state for all residents.

One of Shapiro's first acts as governor was to sign a bipartisan budget for fiscal year 2024. The budget includes funding for education, infrastructure, and other key priorities.

In his inaugural address, Shapiro thanked the voters of Pennsylvania for their support. He also praised his predecessor, Tom Wolf, for his service to the state.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as your governor," Shapiro said. "I will work every day to make Pennsylvania a better place for all who call it home."
