Threat for 100+ mm of rain with strong storm risk over the Prairies this week

A low pressure system over Alberta is expected to move towards the east, bringing with it rain, thunderstorms, and the risk of severe weather.

The heaviest rain is expected to fall on Thursday and Friday, with some areas receiving up to 100 mm of rain.

The storm is also expected to bring strong winds, hail, and the possibility of tornadoes. Environment Canada has issued weather warnings for much of the Prairies, including southern Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
